Cifra
A calculator notepad. Write numbers, math and variables as plain text and see every result as you type, with a running total.
Install
- Download Cifra-0.1.0.zip
- Open the zip and drag Cifra.app to your Applications folder.
How it works
Write a line, get the result
Each line is a calculation. Its result shows on the right, and the footer adds up the whole sheet.
Name your values
Write hotel = $120 * 3 and use hotel on the lines below.
Add up a block
sum or total adds the lines above it, up to a blank line. avg gives the average.
Copy a result
Click any result, or the total, to copy it.
Keep many sheets
Make a sheet for each budget or trip. ⌃⌘S shows them, ⌘F searches them.
Words are fine
Cifra skips words it doesn't know, so you can write Rent $1200 + food $300.
Try these
| You write | You get |
|---|---|
$500 + 16% | $580 |
20% of $300 | $60 |
25% off $80 | $60 |
50 as % of 200 | 25% |
5k * 3 | 15,000 |
1,200 EUR + 300 EUR | €1,500 |
sqrt(144) | 12 |
round(2 / 3, 2) | 0.67 |
